General FAQs
Q.) I want to plan a vacation. Where do I start? Print E-mail

A.) We encourage our customers to make an appointment for a face to face meeting to really find out what type of vacation you envision. Often our clients have a hard time knowing what they want until we have a discussion about their travel options. In addition to our business hours, we make evening and weekend appointments for your convenience.

Q.) Do I have to make an appointment? Can’t I just stop in or call? Print E-mail

A.) You do not need an appointment. We welcome you during our business hours at your convenience. Also, we can plan a perfectly great vacation via the phone or email. Whatever is most convenient for you works for us.

Q.) Can you make travel arrangements for people who do not live in the area? Print E-mail

A.) Absolutely! We make travel arrangements and plan vacations for clients all over the country.

Q.) Will Plan-It Travel be able to offer "guaranteed lowest rates on airfare"? Print E-mail

A.) No one can offer "guaranteed lowest rates on airfare" 100% of the time. Airfares change from day to day, even several times each day.  Our agents have proven time and time again to find the best rates for the best schedule at a much higher percentage than any airline or online booking engine.

Q.) I've read that airlines are not paying commission anymore.... how do you make money selling air? Print E-mail

A.) Most major airlines have cut the commission they pay to travel agencies out altogether. Therefore, we simply add on an agency booking fee to the cost of the ticket. Most travelers would rather have our trusted travel agents shop the fares for them and pay a small service fee, than to spend hours on the phone with the airlines trying to find the best rates, but never doing so.

Q.) How much is the service fee? Print E-mail

A.) The fees vary between 30.00–50.00, depending on how many are traveling, the type of travel, the form of payment, the complexity of the itinerary, and the class of service being purchased. The average service fee is 30.00.

Q.) How do I find out about passports? Print E-mail

A.) Please visit the state department web site for travel http://www.travel.state.gov

Q.) My child does not have a picture I.D. How can he/she travel on an airplane? Print E-mail

A.) Children do not need an I.D. to travel within the United States.  However, the  child may be asked to prove his/her age; therefore it is a good idea to carry an I.D., such as a school I.D., driver’s permit, driver’s license, or birth certificate if your child looks like he or she may be at least 18 years old.

For lap children who are under 24 months of age, you may also be asked for proof of age to confirm that the child is less than 24 months; therefore you should carry the child’s birth certificate.

Children of all age must present a valid U.S. passport to fly out or in to the United States.  Some countries require that the passport be valid for at least 3-6 months beyond the return travel date.

Q.) I am traveling with children. What should I know about airport security? Print E-mail
A.) Go to:  http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/children/index.shtm#3
