General FAQs
Q.) I want to plan a vacation. Where do I start? |
A.) We encourage our customers to make an appointment for a face to face meeting to really find out what type of vacation you envision. Often our clients have a hard time knowing what they want until we have a discussion about their travel options. In addition to our business hours, we make evening and weekend appointments for your convenience. |
Q.) Do I have to make an appointment? Can’t I just stop in or call? |
A.) You do not need an appointment. Appointments are recommended but not required. If you do not have an appointment you may have to wait until an agent is available. |
Q.) Can you make travel arrangements for people who do not live in the area? |
A.) Absolutely! We make travel arrangements and plan vacations for clients all over the country. |
Q.) Will Plan-It Travel be able to offer "guaranteed lowest rates on airfare"? |
A.) No one can offer "guaranteed lowest rates on airfare" 100% of the time. Our agents understand the complexity of air tickets and use their skill to provide the best possible air option to complete the vacation package or cruise that we plan for you. Please note that we arrange air for clients booking a full vacation package or cruise. We are not air only ticket agents. For air only information contact the airline direct. |
Q.) I've read that airlines are not paying commission anymore.... how do you make money selling air? |
A.) Our agency is not an air ticket outlet. We work with clients to plan a complete vacation and most often we book air tickets for clients to get to and from their vacation or cruise package. Since we do not offer air tickets alone, the non payment of commission to agents is not an issue for our office. |
Q.) How much is the service fee? |
A.) The fees vary between 30.00–50.00, depending on how many are traveling, the type of travel, the form of payment, the complexity of the itinerary, and the class of service being purchased. |
Q.) How do I find out about passports? |
A.) Please visit the state department web site for travel http://www.travel.state.gov |
Q.) My child does not have a picture I.D. How can he/she travel on an airplane? |
A.) Children do not need an I.D. to travel within the United States. However, the child may be asked to prove his/her age; therefore it is a good idea to carry an I.D., such as a school I.D., driver’s permit, driver’s license, or birth certificate if your child looks like he or she may be at least 18 years old. For lap children who are under 24 months of age, you may also be asked for proof of age to confirm that the child is less than 24 months; therefore you should carry the child’s birth certificate. Children of all age must present a valid U.S. passport to fly out or in to the United States. Some countries require that the passport be valid for at least 3-6 months beyond the return travel date. |
Q.) I am traveling with children. What should I know about airport security? |
